FIREFIGHTERS believe that a heathland and moorland blaze with three separate fronts was intentional.
Last night, Friday, Fire Control received a call from a member of the public shortly before 9pm regarding the fire on Chagford Common, Dartmoor.
Crews from two fire engines, one from Chagford and one from Moretonhampsted, dealt with the incident alongside an off road vehicle from Chagford.
A Fire Control spokesperson said: ‘On arrival crews confirmed that there were three separate fire fronts, each approximately 5m in length.
‘Crews got to work with beaters and successfully extinguished the fire shortly before 11pm.
‘This fire is believed to have been intentional.’
