q A SERIES of Christmas events organised by Teignmouth Estuary Rotary Club raised more than £500 for the Helen Foundation charity.

'We tried to entertain and also embrace a festive spirit in the town,' explained club president, Brian Morton.

'We had a Santa's grotto and sleigh, the tree of light in the Triangle, and a draw to win the Ted in the sled.

'We would like to thank the people of Teignmouth for their support and generosity.

The mayor of Teignmouth, Cllr David Cox, is pictured drawing the winning ticket for the bear and chair, held by Mr Morton, with, left to right, Rotarians Tricia Kirkby, Ron Woodman, Paul Johnson and David Bryant. The winner was Valdene Webb, from Abbotskerswell.
