A MINISTERIAL visit to Teignmouth has signalled the £4.4 million rebirth of Teignmouth's Carlton Theatre.

Once the curtain closes on the final act tomorrow the task of building its replacement, the Carlton Pavilion, will start in earnest.

In addition to a 220-seat auditorium the glass-clad building will feature flexible work space for fledgling businesses, a gallery and exhibition venue.
