'Blues', says Wikipedia, 'is a musical form and genre that originated in African-American communities in the Deep South of the United States' and, as a young man, that was how I liked my blues, until Eric Clapton widened my horizons.
Jazz was a different ball game. My brother was more into it than I was and he introduced me to Humphrey Lyttelton, Ellington and Basie with an occasional Buddy Rich but, to be honest, jazz was never a staple in my youthful musical diet.
