FIREFIGHTERS in Teignmouth were called out to a kitchen blaze on The Strand over the weekend.

They responded to the 999 shout just after 1.30pm amid reports that smoke was issuing from a flat.

The cause of the drama was found to be a fire involving a microwave which was contained within the appliance.

One crew from the resort remained at the scene to ventilate the smoked-affected property.
