FAST food giant McDonald's plans to open a new restaurant in the former Beefeater site in Kingsteignton, the Mid-Devon Advertise can confirm.
Submitted by McDonalds Restaurants Ltd, the application - reference 26/00677/FUL - is seeking permission for alterations to the existing restaurant, including replacement heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.
The existing restaurant, formerly operated under the Beefeater brand and known as ‘The Grandstand’ closed in July 2024.
It is to be rebranded and used as a McDonald’s restaurant, the planning statement for 26/00677/FUL says.

According to the statement, the new restaurant will be open from 6am to 10.30pm, Monday to Sunday.
The proposed development comprises alterations to the existing restaurant, including a new entrance door.
Internally, the restaurant will be fully refurbished with a new customer area, space for staff and a new kitchen.
McDonald’s employs around 180,000 people across the UK.
