A MAN is being treated in hospital for severe head and leg injuries after a police manhunt following a fire at a house in Ogwell, started by a blow torch.

Police, paramedics and firefighters were alerted to the property in Berkshire Close on Sunday night following reports of the fire.

The man, in his 40s, was hurt after fleeing the house when the bedroom went up in flames.

He was discovered following a police manhunt, involving the force helicopter and police dogs having fallen into a disused quarry in Denbury Road.
