FEARS that a big expansion of a village retirement home will be a blot on the landscape have been refuted.

Some residents in Bishopsteignton are opposing a proposed 'care village' in the grounds of Huntly, a residential home for retired officers.

They describe it as 'massively inappropriate', and claim it will ruin the historic four-acre gardens, spoil the character of the area, be over-development and lead to more traffic congestion.
