A 54-year-old man was airlifted to hospital after he was seriously injured as two cyclists crashed near Chagford yesterday (Friday) morning.

A police spokesperson said: ‘At around 8.45am on Friday a collision occurred between two pedal cyclists near to Collihole Farm, Chagford, Devon.

‘As a result of the collision one of the cyclists a 54-year-old male from the local area sustained serious life threatening injuries.

‘The other cyclist a 19-year-old local male sustained minor injuries.

‘The injured pedal cyclist was airlifted to hospital where he is being treated for life threatening injuries.

‘Local officers as well as officers from the Alliance Roads Policing Team and Serious Collison Investigation Team attended the scene. Once a forensic investigation had been conducted the road was re-opened.’
