A 44 year old man has appeared in court in connection with a raid on a mobile telephone store in Exeter city centre earlier this month.

Gary Edgar, of Unity Crescent, Heywood, near Rochdale, appeared before Exeter magistrates where he denied stealing electrical items worth more than £68,000 on May 3 from the Three store.

Four men wearing balaclavas were reported raiding the 3G Ltd store on Exeter High Street and fleeing in a black car.

Edgar was remanded in custody and will appear at Exeter Crown Court next month.
