A MAN from Kingsteignton has denied trying to injure a police officer during an incident in which he was armed with an axe, hammer and sword.
Christopher Harper pleaded not guilty to attempting to wound the officer with intent to cause grievous bodily harm in the street outside his home in Avery Hill, Kingsteignton, on September 10, 2022.
He also denied controlling and coercive behaviour against a partner between March 2017 and the day of the alleged attack.
Former health worker Harper, aged 49, admitted causing criminal damage to a police car and three counts of possessing weapons in the street on the same day.
Judge Timothy Rose adjourned the case for a trial at Exeter Crown Court next year on the two charges which he denied. He was remanded in custody.
