A TEIGNMOUTH man who caused a nuisance or disturbance at Newton Abbot Community Hospital will be sentenced in March.

Christopher John Deane, aged 39, of Fraser Driver, Teignmouth West, faced five charges at South and West Devon Magistrates' Court.

Deane changed his plea to guilty on a charge he used threatening, abusive, or insulting words or behaviour towards a woman so she feared harassment, alarm or distress. He pleaded not guilty to a similar charge on the same day, November 25, 2021, towards the same woman, but was found guilty on that count.

He also changed his plea to guilty on two further similar charges towards two other women on the same day.

He was also charged that on the same day, without reasonable excuse, he caused a nuisance or disturbance to a National Health staff worker at Newton Abbot Community Hospital and refused to leave the hospital when asked to do so by a NHS staff member. He changed his plea to guilty on that charge.

He was remanded on unconditional bail until March 16 for a pre-sentence report to be prepared.
