POLCIE investigating a series of shoplifting incidents in Newton Abbot have arrested, charged and remanded a man.

Daniel Anderson, age 43 of no fixed abode has been charged with five shoplifting offences and a breach of court bail that occurred between May 21 and July 8.

Anderson has been remanded in police custody and will appear at Magistrates Court today, July 10.

A spokesperson for Newton Abbot’s Neighbourhood Support Team said: ‘Shoplifting will not be tolerated in our communities.

‘We work closely with local businesses to maintain a safe community and our officers work hard to bring offenders to justice’.
