Cllr Paul Burgess, of Haldon Avenue, Teignmouth, writes:

I would like to publicly acknowledge the support and help of a number of people involved in the very successful Luke Friend open top bus tour around Teignmouth on Saturday. Not only was the crowd very good natured on the tour route, but when Luke sang a few songs on the Den the crowd was fantastic in its appreciation and support.

Special thanks must go to all those involved in putting the event together,

Emma Kay (town centre manager), Danny Ross, Cllr Jacqui Orme (posters), David Tickell, Anne Winston (town clerk/town council and very supportive as usual), Cllr David Matthews, Vanessa Grantham (Riviera Café Bar) and all the marshals who helped out.

Big thanks to Sarah Leech (resort supervisor) and her excellent team. Special thanks also to Julie Owen and Peter Wilson, from Teignbridge council, for their support and advice.

We must not forget Sue Potts and Luke Friend, who did so well in the X Factor, who made the day very special for a large number of residents and visitors.

This event again demonstrates that Teignmouth has a lot to offer and by working together we can organise events that put Teignmouth on the map and show everyone what a fantastic place Teignmouth is to visit.
