THE sports bug has arrived in Teignmouth's West Ward – thanks to £142,500 of National Lottery cash.

New health and fitness activities will now be available to residents from street dance and free running (parkour) to more traditional sports such as badminton, and social activities including tea dances.

The Sports Bug project will create these new sessions and better access to health advice for residents aged 14 and over with a one-stop health shop.

Teignbridge Council got the funding for the project from Sport England's Community Sport Activation Fund, part of the National Lottery.
