A RAILWAY worker was left unconscious after a violent assault at a Teignbridge train station.
Police were called to Dawlish Train Station on Sunday, October 19, following a report that a Great Western Railway staff member had been assaulted.
The victim was located ‘in and out of consciousness’, a spokesperson for the Teignmouth and Dawlish policing team said.
PC Miller soon located two suspects at a nearby bus stop.
And during the subsequent arrest, PC Miller was himself assaulted.
The two suspects were taken into police custody, where they remain.
‘We would like to thank the multiple members of the public from Dawlish who embodied the best of the Dawlish community in assisting to restrain the two suspects and who offered support’, the spokesperson for the Teignmouth and Dawlish policing team said.
One member of the public was kicked in the face during the incident.
Police have said they will be nominated for public commendation.
