DEVON Air Ambulance is celebrating Volunteers’ Week by paying tribute to the people who help keep its lifesaving service running.

The charity, which receives no government funding, relies entirely on volunteers to support its operations across the region.

Officials have thanked both current and past volunteers, saying the service ‘would not be here’ without their contribution.

In 2025 alone, volunteers gave 94,913 hours of their time.

The organisation is also highlighting a range of flexible volunteering opportunities, including event volunteering for one-off activities such as its upcoming Heli Hike, regular retail roles in charity shops, and a Base Crew Flex programme designed to fit around individual availability.

Devon Air Ambulance says the roles are designed to allow people to make a meaningful impact while fitting volunteering around their own schedules.
