THE OFFICIAL proclamation for the accession of King Charles III will take place in Teignmouth at 4pm today.

The official announcement will be made to formally announce the accession of in front of the flag pole in the Triangle.

Mayor of Teignmouth Iain Palmer said: ‘On behalf of the council and the people of Teignmouth we sadly announce the passing of our Queen.

‘She will be missed by us all, and our thoughts and prayers are with the family on this very sad occasion.

‘God bless her for all her years of service to the country.

‘She will now join her beloved husband Prince Philip. May she rest in peace.

‘God save the King.’

A Book of Condolence is available in the foyer of Bitton House.

Flowers can be placed in the Triangle around the flagpole.
