A KEY road in and out of Newton Abbot will remain closed until early next week.

Wolborough Street has been closed in both directions heading toward Totnes Road.

The closure came into affect this morning, Friday, August 8 and is expected to last until Tuesday, August 12.

Devon County Council’s interactive roadworks map says the work, carried out by Wales & West Utilities, is for ‘utility repair and maintenance works’.

‘This has really affected my commute to work’, a nearby resident told the Mid-Devon Advertiser.

A couple living in Abbotskerswell, who regularly commute into Newton Abbot, said that they would not bother over the coming five days, not wanting to deal with a congested Coach Road.
