Hannahs charity chop manager Kathy Gowland has created a stunning poppy dress for her window display to mark Remembrance Day.
Kathy, who is manager of Brand H shop in Newton Abbot, wanted to create a special window display for Remembrance Day and found inspiration from a poppy dress on the internet.
She spent five hours creating poppies out of tissue paper and stitching them to a dress before creating the wonderful display.
Alongside the dress she created a carpet of poppies and mounted the famous World War One poem, In Flanders Fields, by John McCrae. It was only with the support of her dedicated team of volunteers that she was able to carry out the project.
The window display made people in the street stop and look, and visitors to the shop wrote some touching comments in the visitors’ book – ‘wonderful window that made me stop and think’, and ‘fantastic display which moved me and made me stop in my tracks to read the poem – very poignant and effective’.
