ALL children in Teignmouth junior schools are to be given a special mug to celebrate the Queen's diamond jubilee.
About 1,000 youngsters are expected to receive the souvenir – just as many of their grandparents did in Coronation year nearly 60 years ago.
The gift is a joint venture between the town council and Teignmouth Rotary Club, and is inspired by a report in a 1953 edition of the Teignmouth Post of the coronation parties.
The mayor, Cllr David Cox, has assured council tax payers that the handout should not cost them a penny.
