A WOMAN has been jailed for sending text messages to a man in breach of a court order.

Caroline Lucy Minns, aged 51, of St Annes, Kenton, pleaded guilty to three charges of contacting a man via text messages when prohibited by a restraining order by North and East Devon Magistrates. The messages were sent on January 11, 25 and 26 of this year.

She was sent to prison for 16 weeks to run concurrently.

The court gave the reason for the jail sentence as: ‘Offence so serious because the offence was aggravated by being committed whilst subject to a community sentence, because the defendant has a flagrant disregard for court orders.’

Minns was also ordered to pay £154 to fund victim services.
