In response to Sylvia Russell’s letter (Mid-Devon Advertiser/Teignmouth Post, October 14) concerning the salary increase for the chief executive.

Where does she get off criticising anyone complaining about the extortionate rise?

She is bound to agree as she is part of it all!

I think it’s about time she was told it is only Teignbridge Council and not Government or anything close!

Bearing in mind her salary comes very close to the Prime Minister’s.

As for her remark about her having to do ‘other people’s jobs’, what about all the hard-working council workers on the minimum wage doing ‘other people’s jobs’ because of cutbacks. Where’s their rise – is it one per cent or nothing again? They are treated like menials. Public sector pay in general is generous? What a joke!

After the programme on television on Tuesday, October 18 about the council and Government outsourcing scandal, it is plainly obvious where all our council taxes are going, to the likes of Nicola Bulbeck and the scandalous outsourcing fees!

Until everybody stops paying their council taxes, all this will escalate and continue with the likes of Sylvia Russell condoning every penny wasted!
