FIREFIGHTERS were called into action yesterday, Tuesday, July 29, after an Electric Vehicle (EV) caught fire at a Dartmoor campsite.

Crews from Moretonhampstead and Bovey Tracey brought the incident under control, which occurred at a campsite just outside of Moretonhampstead.

Having extinguished the fire, crews carried out the proper decontamination process.

This was to ensure nothing nasty was brought back to station and in turn back to crew members’ homes, Moretonhampstead Fire Station said.
