AN application to upgrade and improve apartments in Teignmouth has been approved.

The application - reference 25/01722/FUL - sought permission for a series of external and internal alterations to create four apartments at 6 Somerset Place.

The ground floor retail unit of the property has been recently refurbished and is now occupied by The Refill and Deli shop.

The proposal, which is a reconsideration of an approved application last year, deals only with the first, second and third floors - the Refill and Deli shop will be unaffected by the scheme.

The new design alters the disbursement of flats, but retains the overall occupant capacity and flat numbers.

And Teignbridge District Council granted planning permission.

‘The development hereby permitted shall begin before the expiry of three years from the date of this permission’, the council said.
