IT was a late night for several of Teignbridge's firefighters as crews tackled a fire a at Vennford Reservoir.
Crew from Ashburton, Buckfastleigh and Princetown Fire Stations, were faced with four large seats of fire in a wooded area upon arrival; forestry operations are ongoing in the area.

The wind blew hot embers towards large forestry machinery and open moorland.
Crews got to work using beaters, drag forks and a mini portable pump from Princetown's 4x4 vehicle to provide water to the scene.
Due to the density of the wood piles and unstable terrain crews spent a few hours dampening the area down and will be revisiting this morning, Wednesday, September 27, to ensure there has been no further spread.
