A TEIGNMOUTH councillor had a good excuse for missing a council meeting – she was trapped in a bedroom.

Cllr June Green was about to take a shower in her en-suite bedroom and went to fetch a towel from another room in the Ashleigh Way bungalow.

But to her horror the door had jammed shut.

'I tried to climb out of the window in just my bath wrap, but realised the drop was too far.
