A HOLLYWOOD classic, Arsenic and Old Lace, directed by Frank Capra, is the next choice of the Teignmouth Film society. Mortimer Brewster (Cary Grant) admits: ‘Insanity runs in my family. It practically gallops,’ and he isn’t far wrong. Two maiden aunts turn out to be serial killers, one brother thinks he is Teddy Roosevelt, and another is a homicidal maniac. Witty dialogue, madcap action and an excellent cast make for macabre fun, huge laughs and some genuine melodramatic thrills, as well as a touch of romance. It will be screened at Teignmouth Community School arts centre, on Friday, December 11, at 8pm.
