NO deaths relating to coronavirus in Devon and Cornwall have been recorded in the latest weekly figures.

The figures from the Office of National Statistics (ONS) which relate to the week of June 12 to June 18 but registered up to June 19, show that none of the 308 deaths registered in the two counties had Covid-19 mentioned on the death certificate.

It is the second week in a row where no deaths in Devon were recorded, and means that in the previous four weeks, only two deaths across the two counties have been recorded related to coronavirus.

It is the ninth week in a row where there were no deaths in a care home in the two counties, and the 14th consecutive week where the total number of Covid related deaths was in single figures.

Every region apart from Exeter and Cornwall now have gone a month since the last death was recorded, with Torbay two months, Torridge and Plymouth three months, and North Devon approach five months, having not seen a death since the first week of February.

There were no deaths in the most recent week in Teignbridge for the sixth week running.
