Huge spike in Covid cases continues in Teignbridge

222 new people in Teignbridge gave a confirmed positive test on February 4.

The latest Government figures for the district show that between January 29 and February 4, 2,538 people had a confirmed positive test result. This shows an increase of 53.2% compared to the previous seven days.

There were no deaths in Teignbridge within 28 days of a positive test for coronavirus reported on February 4.

90,483 people had been given a booster or third dose by the end of February 3.

Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust report that there were 27 patients in hospital with coronavirus on February 1 and that two  coronavirus patients in hospital beds with a mechanical ventilator on the same day.

You can still get a booster today (Saturday) at the walk-in session at Newton Abbot Racecourse from 9am to 12.30pm.
