212 new people had a confirmed positive test result reported in Teignbridge on February 8.

Between February 2 and 8, 1,431 people had a confirmed positive test result. This shows a decrease of -44.5% compared to the previous seven days.

There were no deaths within 28 days of a positive test for coronavirus reported on February 8

But between February 2 and February 8, there have been two deaths within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test.

Twenty-three more people died in the county within 28 days of testing positive for covid in the latest complete weekly period (up to Wednesday, February 2). 

Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust reports that five people with coronavirus went into hospital on January 30 and that there were 27 patients in hospital with coronavirus on 1 February 1, two people were in hospital beds with a mechanical ventilator on the same day.

VACCINATIONS

90,685 people had been given a booster or third dose by the end of February 7.

The number of people aged over 12 who have received their booster (third) covid vaccination is 70 per cent in the Devon County Council area, 65 per cent in Torbay and 60 per cent in Plymouth.

Take-up for at least one dose of a vaccine is 88 per cent in the Devon County Council area, 86 per cent in Torbay and 85 per cent in Plymouth.

The proportion of people who have had two jabs is 84 per cent in Devon, 81 per cent in Torbay and 79 per cent in Plymouth.
