THERE were screams and shrieks as about 300 hardy souls plunged into the briny at Teignmouth beach on Boxing Day.
The sea may have been warm for this time of the year, but it was still a shock to the system as they dived or strolled into the waves, donned in all sorts of weird, wonderful and imaginative costumes.
It was, of course, the traditional walk in the sea in aid of the RNLI, and with relatively good weather this year, the mass swim and paddle was watched by an estimated 3,000 on the beach and promenade.
