TEIGNMOUTH'S traditional bank holiday music fest by the harbour was another huge hit. It was the fifth year the Ship Inn has staged four days of entertainment from a stage on the back beach, and residents and visitors were treated to a feast of different musical styles from 18 local bands. The festival was rounded off on Monday evening by top Teignmouth group The Quails. Teignmouth mayor Cllr Ian Parkes opened the event, and even threw in a song of his own. Ship landlady Kim Rackley said there were big crowds for all the gigs and the weather had been kind. 'Everybody enjoyed it and we raised quite a bit of money – we are still counting – for the Devon Air Ambulance and the Exeter charity, Stop Abuse for Everyone. The festival is now firmly on the local live music calendar.'
