THE impressive Sefton Hall provided the backdrop for Dawlish Fire Station's latest training night.

Firefighter Papiez and Crew Manager Duke laid a guideline through the basement that crews wearing Breathing Apparatus (BA) had to follow while searching for casualties.

It was not the typical training exercise, however, as crews had to keep an eye out for clues during the session; it soon transpired that these clues were in fact a pin code.

The pin code released Dawlish's finest from entrapment: a coded doorway hocking their escape.

'During the drill a fire alarm call point was activated and it was excellent to see how quickly and professionally the staff responded, clearly well versed with their own fire drill training' a spokesman for Dawlish Fire Station said.
