TEIGNMOUTH lifeboat fundraisers raised a record £117,000 last year.

But to maintain the success, new blood and new ideas are always wanted by the fundraising team and an appeal has gone out for more recruits.

'We cannot go on for ever, so would love more people to come and join us,' said Barry Behenna, secretary of the fundraising section.

'Volunteers are bound together by an exemplary common purpose, and becoming part of the team involves friendship, a good social life and integration with the local community.
