IPPLEPEN Community Hub was packed to capacity to celebrate its re-opening after more than two years of extensive renovations.
The Rev Kevin Hooke welcomed parish councillors, donors, fund-raisers, volunteers, and villagers.
They were entertained by the popular Newton Abbot Ukulele Band, before watching a slideshow of the building works, and admiring the new cafe area and library shelving.
Lifelong-resident Mary Quick cut the red ribbon.
Hub-volunteer Joyce Sharpe cut the celebration cake.
Guests were invited to put forward suggestions for further uses of the new community space.
It is currently open three days a week and hosts Devon’s largest community library, a popular cafe, and various craft clubs.
The Hub is offering a board-games afternoon on October 19 at 2pm, and tapestry lessons for local children.
l If you have any further suggestions, please contact the Hub at [email protected].
