THE Friends of the Railway Studies Collection, based at Newton Abbot’s Passmore Edwards Centre, are branching out.

Their latest project is staging a Railway Week at Chudleigh Library from Monday to Friday, October 31. It is being held in association with The Friends of Chudleigh Library.

There will be a special collection of railway books to borrow, and a display throughout the week for anyone interested in rail travel, local history or simply a walk down memory lane.

On the afternoon of Thursday. October 29, with the help of the Chudleigh History Group, there is a free talk on Chudleigh’s connection with the railway and the Teign Valley Line.

At 7pm on Friday, October 30, FRWSC secretary, Graham Walker will be sharing some images from the collection in an illustrated talk entitled, More Than Trains, for which tickets can be obtained from the library or on the door, for £2.

Being half term, on the Monday, Wednesday and Saturday from 10.30am-noon, the railway theme will continue with free sessions for children, with stories, table games, arts and crafts, dressing-up and badge making.
