FRAGGLE will certainly be getting up to some monkey business this week as he celebrates his 18th birthday at Shaldon Wildlife Trust. Originating in Brazil the golden-lion tamarin lives for around 10 years in the wild, but over 20 in human care.
As ‘one of the biggest characters in the zoo’, Fraggle’s birthday certainly is a big event at the zoo.
Shaldon Wildlife Trust said: ‘Fraggle has lived with us for nearly 10 years and as the first enclosure you see is almost like the Shaldon Wildlife Trust greeter.
‘At 18 Fraggle is no spring chicken but he still loves eating his bugs and getting groomed by his pygmy marmoset room mates.’
