THAT Foodbank in Newton Abbot is appealing for urgent donations as demand for its ‘Home Start’ packs continues to rise in recent weeks, leaving stocks running low.
The foodbank provides essential household items for people moving into permanent accommodation after periods in temporary housing, but says it needs public support to continue the service.
Items currently in short supply include kettles, toasters, hand towels, tea towels, tin openers, and new toilet brushes and dustpan sets.
Alongside household goods, the charity is also requesting food donations such as custard, coffee, biscuits, microwave rice, UHT milk, jam, squash, sugar, tinned corned beef and toilet roll.
Donations can be dropped off at collection points across Newton Abbot or directly at the charity’s shop in Buckland, with organisers urging residents to share the appeal where possible.
