DODDISCOMBSLEIGH Primary School will be putting on a three-day art show at Teign Valley Community Hall, Christow, this autumn.

There will be approximately 500 pieces of art and crafts on display including paintings, sculptures, glassware and jewellery with an opportunity to buy some of the works.

Jo Duncan, chairman of the show, said: ‘The success of Doddiscombsleigh Art Show grows each year and I am very excited to be part of the great team that puts it all together.’

The show’s patron, Michael Morpurgo, best known for his children’s novel War Horse, said: ‘The Doddiscombsleigh Art Show is a truly wonderful initiative that helps a small school hugely and I am honoured to have been asked to be the patron. These kind of initiatives should be widely encouraged.’

The event is organised by the school every two years and will open on Friday, October 30.
