The organiser of a Devon music festival says his team are looking forward to a summer free of restrictions as the first smash-hit bands have been announced for the 2022 line-up.

The first headliner to be announced for Chagstock is Northern Irish band, Ash – a pop-rock act with an amazing array of hits, such as: Girl from Mars, Shining Light and Burn Baby Burn.

The band have just released a specially compiled Best Of album, showcasing the biggest tunes of their 25-year career.

Folk-Punk band Ferocious Dog will also bring their thumping tunes to Dartmoor in July. The group have a loyal following for their upbeat Levellers-esk ballads.

Other acts to be announced so far are Baskery, an all-female Swedish trio described as “Americana alternative folk.”

Also joining the billing are Plymouth Five-piece, The Native, solo songwriter Mim Grey, Funk and Soul band Tom McGuire & the Brassholes, and self-described “quirky band” Pattern Pusher.

The festival has two main stages which alternate between acts, ensuring you don’t miss a thing and you don’t spend the weekend glued to a running order. Revellers can also watch artists perform throughout the weekend in the Live Lounge, which also features DJ sets at night.

Simon Ford, Chagstock festival organiser, said: ‘We really can’t wait to see you all in a field again. I’m very confident that the event will be going ahead with little to no restrictions in place. We took a big gamble last year but luckily it paid off. I think 2022 could be our best ever Chagstock.’

He continued: ‘I’m really excited to share more of the line up over the coming months, we’ve got some big plans and loads more acts to be confirmed.’

Chagstock is a festival that puts its money where its mouth is on protecting the environment. The festival plants trees, supplies reusable mugs and takes every step possible to reduce waste and impact on the planet.
