FIREFIGHTERS based on Dartmoor have raised more than £1,000 for a charity close to their hearts.

The crew from Chagford Fire Station raised money for The Firefighters Charity on Saturday, March 28, with their annual car wash.

This year, the crew raised £1,104 for the charity, which offers specialist, lifelong support for members of the UK fire service.

Crew were on hand at the town’s station on Turnlake Road from 10am until 4pm.

A spokesperson for the station said: ‘Thank you to everybody who came along to our carwash.

‘The sun was out and we didn’t stop all day’.

The crew from Chagford Fire Station are no strangers to fundraising.

In 2025, the crew raised more than £6,000 for the Firefighters Charity by cycling from Chagford to Benidorm while wearing full service kit.
