Over the past 10 years the Teignmouth lifeboat fundraising team has raised well over one million pounds to keep the lifeboat and crew available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, saving lives at sea.

Now the team is looking for new volunteers to join up and help raise the money needed to keep the vital service operating in Teignmouth.

There are two key roles to fill - treasurer and assistant secretary, and fun loving people also also sought to help at the numerous fundraising events this summer.

’If you have an interest in books, jewellery, bric a brac, collectables or baking, we have opportunities to apply your skills,’ said Tom Neville, chairman of the fund raisers.

’Perhaps you have time to help with collections or join our boathouse team showing visitors around the station, and The Two Annes Atlantic 85 Lifeboat. Our friendly team really need your help, Training will be given if needed and you decide how much time you have to volunteer.

’As a member of the team you will have the chance to be involved in a wide range of fun and social events, meet new friends and make a positive contribution to keeping our crew and boat in action.’

Anybody interested can find out more by popping along to a coffee morning at the TAAG Centre in Northumberland Place tomorrow, March 31, from 10am to 1pm or by calling Tom on 01626 775248 or Barrie Behenna, the secretary, on 01626 681809.
