THE number of thefts from motor vehicles has been revealed by a Freedom of Information (FOI) request.

In the 2024/25 financial year, there were 1,747 thefts from a motor vehicle in the Devon and Cornwall policing area, the FOI request shows.

May 2024 saw the highest number of thefts at 199, with February 2025 seeing the least at 91.

Last year’s figure marks the lowest in the past three years, with there being 2,118 thefts in 2023/24 and 2,132 in 2022/23.
