THE water-themed third Teignmouth Science Festival went off not so much with a bang, but more of a great big splash, writes John Ware.
TV celebrity scientist Adam Hart-Davis fascinated the audience with his explanation of why water is wet (it's all to do with its molecular structure), while Langdon Hospital psychologist Keith Scholey managed to squeeze the contents of an MSc in neuropsychology into a half-hour talk on deception, prior to the showing of Deep Water, the acclaimed documentary about the tragic figure of Donald Crowhurst, who left from Teignmouth to sail round the world, but never returned.
