A FORMER Teignmouth man and his young family have been caught up in the horror of the violent protests in Egypt.
Andrew Day, 34, and his wife, saw a body lying in the street of their Cairo apartment, after a night of burning buildings and gunfire in the immediate area.
It has been a worrying week for their parents, Doris and Stanley, who live in Teignmouth, but there was huge relief yesterday when they heard the family had been evacuated to safety in Cyprus. The family arrived back in the UK on Wednesday
Mr Day went to Our Lady & St Patrick School and Teignmouth High School, before attending Guildford University. He is a chartered accountant working for a oil and gas company. He was based in Egypt for about two-years.
