TRIBUTES have been paid to two young men who were killed in a horrific car crash just outside Kingsteignton last month.

Police responded to a crash involving two Jaguar cars on Clay Pits Way at 5.45pm on August 27.

Driver Lewis Taylor, 27, and his 17-year-old passenger Callum Heath collided with 60-year-old Nicholas Smith’s vehicle.

Both Lewis and Callum were pronounced dead at the scene, and Mr Smith died in hospital three days later.

All of the victims were from Chudleigh.

Callum’s parents said their son, who was a keen footballer and cricketer, was a ‘larger than life character’ with a ‘cheeky smile and fun sense of humour.’

They added: ‘Callum made time for everyone, he adored his two younger sisters and had an amazing circle of friends.

‘As a family we are absolutely devastated to know that Callum’s life has ended so suddenly and unnecessarily, at this young age with his whole adult life ahead of him.’

Heartfelt tributes have been paid by Lewis’ family who described him as a ‘much loved’ son, brother, dad and uncle.

They added: ‘His personality and smile will be greatly missed. He adored his daughters and was a brilliant uncle to his nieces and nephews.

‘He will be missed by his friends and their children who he always had plenty of time for.

‘Lewis will be laid to rest with his grandad, whom he had great respect for and his auntie who he adored.’

Police are still appealing for witnesses and want to speak to anyone who saw either car before the crash on August bank holiday.

Anyone with information is being asked to call 101 or email [email protected] quoting log number 771 of August 27.
