THE 75th anniversary of VE Day will be celebrated next May.

Victory in Europe came on May 8, 1945, and ahead of next year’s celebrations, reader Paul Baker has sent in this photograph from his mum’s collection showing the Chudleigh Road, Kingsteignton, VE party – no doubt one of many held that day.

He said: ‘My dad, David Baker, is centre front with round face and sleeves rolled up ready for the feast! I believe he lived at number 39 and certainly at number 22 Chudleigh Road.

‘Somewhere in the background should be my grandmother Ida Baker. The rest, unfortunately, I don’t know.’
