LIVES were put at risk as someone left gas canisters in a cardboard skip in Newton Abbot.

Teignbridge Council gave out the warning with this picture on their Facebook page.

The council said: ‘These gas canisters were found in a cardboard skip at Sainsbury’s, Newton Abbot this morning.

‘They would’ve caused a risk to life when the card was put through the bailing machine at our bulky station

‘Please take gas canisters to a recycling centre for appropriate disposal.’

A comment posted beneath said: ‘Just why would people put gas canisters in a cardboard skip and risk the lives of the staff down the Teignbridge council bulking Station.’
