AN engine caught fire in Dawlish late last night, Wednesday.

Crews from Dawlish were sent to reports of a vehicle fire in the town shortly before 11pm.

A Fire Control spokesperson said: ‘On arrival crews discovered there had been a small fire in the engine compartment which was now out.

‘Crews used one hose reel and the thermal imaging camera to ensure the vehicle was safe and to prevent reignition.’
